Water Damage Restoration: How We Can Help You

June 25, 2013 filed under General

A broken water pipe or hot water tank can cause water to flood your home or business in just minutes, leaving no time to save valuable items or equipment. While the damage to the structure and the items inside it can be extreme, the health risks from sewage intrusion, as well as bacterial and mold growth that can follow pose a much greater threat.

Damage from flooding requires immediate action. Because we’re on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, we are able to come to a home or business directly following a flood, even in the middle of the night or on a weekend. The quicker we can inspect and assess the losses, the quicker we can begin to restore the home or business, and prevent any health issues from arising.

Following a flood, our highly-skilled project managers and staff will respond immediately with state-of-the-art air movement equipment and dehumidifying equipment to begin the water damage restoration process. If necessary, we can seal off the affected area from the rest of the property and arrange for plumbing or water source repairs.

Once debris and damaged contents are removed for cleaning and drying, we will extract any excess water, and clean, deodorize and disinfect all damaged areas, storing contents until repairs are made and drying is complete. We HEPA vacuum all surfaces, monitor walls and floors until they return to a normal moisture level, and test and clean all duct work. Our staff will also supervise the dry-cleaning all fabrics and drapery, clean or replace carpeting, and repair or refinish hardwood floors.

Because water can carry contaminants that can lead to dangerous health issues, we are certified on all safety regulations regarding water damage and specially equipped to test surface and hidden areas, such as wall cavities, for contamination. If necessary, we will treat any contaminated areas found with anti-microbial treatments. This is a critical step in the water damage restoration process, as improper contaminant removal can lead to mold growth, bacterial growth, unpleasant odors, and serious health problems.

A water-related disaster causes more than just damage to a structure and the contents inside. It takes an emotional and financial toll on home and business owners. It is especially difficult for clients faced with damage to irreplaceable items with high intrinsic value, such as photographs, mementos, and family heirlooms, but we are specially trained and highly skilled at restoring items damaged from water.

We have been able to repair and restore items that appeared too damaged to replace, such as jewelry, electronics, and antiques. It’s a rewarding feeling to return an important item to a client completely restored to its former state and to be a part of getting a home or business back up and running.

Our goal is to make the water damage restoration process as easy and stress-free for clients as possible. We work directly with insurance adjusters to agree on the scope of loss and bill the insurance company directly. We understand that a disaster involving water can be overwhelming, which is why we treat clients with compassion and empathy, and communicate with them through each step of the process.
